MURRAY COUNTY, Ga. - The Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) and the Murray County Sheriff’s Office have arrested and charged three individuals in connection with the shooting death of 18-year-old Jeffery Tyler Ray in Murray County on Aug. 25.
TyKel Keshawn Hutchinson, 19, and a 16-year-old, both from Rome, have been charged with Aggravated Assault and Felony Murder. Additionally, Keano Nestor, 17, also from Rome, has been charged with Tampering with Evidence.
The arrests stem from an incident that occurred during an outdoor party at a home off Sexton Road in Resaca, Murray County. Deputies responded to the scene and found that Ray had been shot. He was transported to a local hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Another individual was also shot in the face and received treatment for his injuries.
Ray’s body has been sent to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy.
