Accused rapist knew his victims, police say
Clayton County investigators just confirmed 27-year-old Edward Huffman the third is charged with raping multiple women and at least one child over a several year period. Police say he knew his victims.
CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. - Clayton County investigators say 27-year-old Edward Huffman III is charged with raping at least seven women and at least one child over a period of several years.
Clayton County police are calling him a serial rapist who took advantage of his friend. Investigators say he drugged his victims then raped them before posting videos online.
"Detectives learned that Edward Huffman III drugged his victims and then recorded himself as he raped, sodomized, and performed a number of degrading acts on the women while they were incapacitated," said Major Frank Thomas with Clayton County Police Department.
Huffman was arrested on Sept. 13, but detectives say the crimes date back to at least 2021. Investigators say friend of one of the victims alerted her to a sexually explicit video, which showed her being raped while unconscious, posted on a pornographic website.
"The victim conducted her own research and was able to locate videos of her, her friend and several other women being sexually assaulted while unconscious, that had been posted by Huffman, which prompted her to come in and make a report," Major Thomas said.
As investigators tracked down victims, they noticed a pattern; Huffman was friends with them.
"Each victim advised that after being in Huffman's presence, they did recall being asleep for an unusual amount of time, but did not suspect that he had harmed them in any way," Thomas said.

Clayton County Police say Huffman is also accused of molesting a child over whom he had direct supervision. Detectives say he initially denied the allegations, but eventually admitted to the crimes. Major Thomas says Huffman posted videos online for profit.
"Once things are put on the internet, they don't go away," he said. "It's there forever, this is going to be a haunting thing for these women the rest of their lives."
Huffman faced a judge for a bond hearing on Thursday and was denied bond.
