WASHINGTON - Abandoned luggage led authorities to investigate a suspicious vehicle outside of Union Station and the U.S. Capitol.
U.S. Capitol Police said officers responded to the area of Louisiana Avenue at around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday after a commercial driver told them his passenger exited his vehicle without their luggage.
After working with Amtrak Police, Capitol Police officers were able to locate the passenger of the luggage at Union Station, according to officials.
The vehicle and luggage were eventually cleared by police. Several roads were closed in the area due to the police investigation, but they were later reopened at around 7:20 p.m.
