CLAYTON COUNTY, Ga. - The manhunt for an ‘armed and dangerous’ suspect, which sparked a standoff with SWAT and led to a shelter-in-place order for a Clayton County community has ended.
The Clayton County Sheriff's Office confirmed to FOX 5 that the suspect, Jeremiah Rose, was taken into custody Monday afternoon.
Officers were called Sunday afternoon to the 11000 block of Tara Glynn Drive and McDonough Drive for a welfare check. According to investigators, a caller reported the 41-year-old suspect was experiencing a mental health crisis and had several guns inside the home.
While investigating, officers learned that Rose had multiple warrants out for his arrest for failure to appear for aggravated assault with a weapon out of Louisiana.
The officers attempted to get Rose to get out of his residence, but say he refused to leave.
A shelter-in-place order was issued for residents around the area of Tara Glynn Drive in the city of Hampton as authorities canvassed the area looking for Rose.
