Ted Turner, the 86-year-old media mogul and philanthropist, is recovering after being hospitalized with pneumonia, according to a report by TMZ. Representatives for Turner described the case as "mild," and said that he is expected to make a full recovery.

Turner, best known as the founder of CNN and former owner of Turner Broadcasting, has largely remained out of the public eye since 2018, when he revealed his diagnosis with Lewy body dementia. The condition causes symptoms similar to those of Alzheimer’s disease and includes movement difficulties.

A pioneer in media and sports, Turner is widely celebrated for his impact on both industries. In addition to launching the 24-hour news network CNN, Turner once owned several of the city of Atlanta's professional sports teams, including Major League Baseball’s Atlanta Braves, the NBA’s Atlanta Hawks, and the NHL’s now-defunct Atlanta Thrashers.
