Teens arrested in shooting at DeKalb Walmart

Two teenagers have been arrested in connection with a shooting at a Walmart in DeKalb County.

Police say the 16-year-olds, identified as a female and a male, were arrested in the shooting of a 19-year-old male Sunday afternoon. The female suspect is charged with conspiracy to commit aggravated assault, and the male has been identified as the shooter, police said. His charges are unknown at this time.

Around 3:30 p.m., officers responded to the Walmart on Farrington Road for report of a person shot. Upon arrival, the victim told police he was shot in the back following a verbal altercation with another black male in his late teens to early twenties. The incident took place in the parking lot.

The suspects reportedly fled the scene in a black older model Honda. The victim was transported to Grady and is expected to survive.

The investigation is ongoing.
