Taco Bell employee shot teens with gun they brought to work, police say

Police said an argument led to a South Fulton Taco Bell employee grabbing a gun he brought to work and opening fire. Police said the suspect exchanged gunfire with teens, who are recovering at Grady Hospital.

A late-night shooting at a South Fulton Taco Bell left two teenagers fighting for their lives at a local hospital Wednesday.

South Fulton police said 17-year-old Marquis Jordan, a Taco Bell employee, is the suspect, and he apparently brought an assault rifle to work.

Police confirmed to FOX 5 that the double shooting happened around 12:45 a.m. at the Taco Bell on the 900 block of Camp Creek Way.

According to investigators, Jordan was in some sort of argument with customers, went into the restaurant to get the gun, then opened fire on two people in a car, who apparently had nothing to do with the initial argument. Police said there was an exchange of gunfire.

Police haven't confirmed any arrests yet.

Police said one teen was shot in the neck and another in a "lower extremity." They were treated at Grady Memorial Hospital.

A witness who was parked at the fast food restaurant with his fiancé told FOX 5's Lindsay Tuman about seeing the employee come out with a weapon and start shooting.

"He got his gun and started shooting at that car, they started shooting back, and then he started shooting at our car. He shot the hood of our car and the side of our car," Jalen Jackson said. "All of this because we came to get the new Mexican Pizza that just came back out."
