TeleHealth Day under the Gold Dome

ATLANTA - An event at the State Capitol aims to shine a spotlight on some alternative ways to receive health care.

Tuesday was TeleHealth Day under the Gold Dome.

TeleHealth services allow Georgians to receive all sorts of health care using technology.

Experts said providers can use telemedicine to provide specialty care like HIV services and psychiatric evaluations, even in rural Georgia.

In Georgia, insurers generally cover TeleHealth treatments.

The Georgia Partnership for TeleHealth has been working in the state since 2006.
