'The Most Interesting Man' sent packing
NEW YORK (FOX 5 NY) - 'The Most Interesting Man In The World' is on a one-way mission to Mars. The wildly popular promotional campaign from Dos Equis beer featuring a suave, tan man played by actor Jonathan Goldsmith, is coming to an end.
The full 60-second commercial of the 'The Most Interesting Man In The World' saying "stay thirsty my friends" for the last time will air March 10 during the NBA Cleveland Cavaliers and Los Angeles Lakers game.
"His only regret is not knowing what regret feels like. He is 'The Most Interesting Man In The World," says the announcer during the spot.
Goldsmith, 77, has been the star of the campaign since 2007.
"It's been an incredible run. I really had the good fortune to be involved in an extremely successful campaign. So many doors have opened that I have not been able to take advantage of because of contractual concerns," said Goldsmith.
Dos Equis will be replacing Goldsmith with a younger 'Most Interesting Man.'
"Beer increased three times, I believe. I did a very good job. Life goes on," said Goldsmith.
