THOMASVILLE, Ga. - At least one person has died after a vehicle drove through a Walmart in Thomasville Wednesday morning, according to the Thomasville Police Department.
Officials say shortly after 11:45 a.m., officers responded to the Walmart Supercenter on the 15300 block of U.S. 19 North after reports of the crash and multiple injures.
Georgia State Patrol troopers arrived at the scene to find a 2012 gray Toyota Camry crashed through the store's entrance and exit.
Investigators identified the driver as Khalil Amarion Pugh and say he was driving recklessly at a high speed in the store's parking lot.
Multiple people were injured in the crash including one man who died at the scene from his injuries. The victim's identity has not been released.
Officials say Pugh tried to run off after the crash but was apprehended by bystanders.
He's currently in custody at the Archbold Memorial Hospital charged with first-degree vehicular homicide, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident, and driving without a license.
That Walmart was closed around 12:22 p.m. to allow an investigation into the incident.
