Tractor trailer fire shuts down I-285 in Sandy Springs

SANDY PRINGS, Ga. - Traffic along I-285 eastbound in Sandy Springs is flowing once again after a tractor trailer fire shut down the interstate in both directions.

The fire was on I-285 westbound at Riverside Drive. Firefighters put hoses across eastbound lanes in order to battle the blaze.

The closure snarled traffic for hours around the evening rush hour. It's unclear at this time if anyone was injured.
