Several people have been displaced after a tree fell on an apartment building in Norcross, according to the Gwinnett Fire Department.

Firefighters responded around 4 p.m. to a tree down in the 3200 block of Windscape Village Lane. Crews found a large tree that had fallen over the roof on the left-side of an 8-unit apartment building.

The tree damaged part of the truss roof system and punctured the sheetrock in two top floor apartments. There were no injuries reported, according to officials.

Authorities determined that the four units on the left side of the building were not safe to re-enter due to the damaged overhead. The four units on the right-side of the building were not damaged, but utilities had to be cut to the entire building. People in all 8 units will be displaced due to the incident.

The tree fell onto the apartment building from a neighboring property. The scene was turned over to maintenance personnel for the apartment complex and a private tree company. Management at the complex is working to place the occupants in available apartment units within the complex, according to officials.
