Truck driver dies after crash with MARTA bus in Palmetto

PALMETTO, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A MARTA bus was involved in an accident with a pickup truck in Palmetto Friday. 

It happened on Wilkerson Mill Road at Roosevelt Highway.

Officials told FOX 5, a truck was traveling southbound on Roosevelt Highway and hit the MARTA bus head on.

A MARTA spokesperson confirmed the truck driver died Friday afternoon.

According to officials with MARTA, the bus driver was taken to a nearby hospital and is serious condition.

No passengers were on the bus when the crash took place.
