Tucker man sentenced for attacking police captain

COBB COUNTY, Ga. - A Tucker man will serve 20 years in prison for attacking a Cobb County Police captain.

Christian Hobby pleaded guilty to aggravated assault on a peace officer, aggravated battery, felony obstruction, and giving false information.

Cobb County officers responded to reports of a suspicious person near Hickory Grove Road in Acworth back in 2016.

Hobby hit the police captain in the head with a heavy object while he was being arrested.

The captain's eye was swollen shut and he had to get more than a dozen stitches to on his lip and nose.
