Two arrested in armed bank robbery

NEWNAN - Two men are behind bars after a bank robbery and police chase took place on Monday.

Witnesses at Fidelity Bank on Newnan Crossing Blvd. were able to provide officers with suspect descriptions and a lookout was placed with surrounding law enforcement agencies.

Coweta County deputies were on I-85 north of Newnan and spotted the car matching the description.

The deputies attempted to make a traffic stop, but the suspect vehicle increased in speed, according to reports.

The deputies chased them into Fulton County until the suspect’s car blew a tire and lost control.

Police tell FOX 5 that after a short chase, Jihad Kimbrough, 23, and Harold Thomas, age 27, were arrested.

Both remain in the Coweta County jail charged with armed robbery with further charges pending.
