Two arrests made in Stone Mountain deadly shooting
DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Police have made two arrests in connection with a deadly shooting in DeKalb County last month.
On March 30, around 3:30 a.m., police were called to a home in the 1100 block of Sheppard Place in Stone Mountain. Lopez Morgan, 55, was found shot to death.
According to police, Morgan was found in a small detached building behind the home.
On Friday, police announced the arrests of 18-year-old Keiarra Rainer, and 43-year-old Sharman Sampson. Investigators think Morgan was friends with Rainer.
Police believe Rainer was with Morgan on the morning of the shooting and called Sampson to the home. That's when authorities think Morgan was robbed, then shot.
The two suspects were arrested in a stolen vehicle in Hollandale, Mississippi, where they remain waiting to be transported to the DeKalb County Jail.
Both suspects are facing murder charges.
