Underground Atlanta sale finalized

ATLANTA - Mayor Kasim Reed announced the closing of the sale of Underground Atlanta to a company based in Charleston, South Carolina.

WRS, Inc. purchased the complex for $34.6 million.

The real estate investment company plans to redevelop the 12-acre site into a live-work-shop community.

The mayor said the sale will save the city $8 million a year.
