Vigil for UGA grad as family, friends wait for word
GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. - Heartbroken yet hopeful. That’s how friends and a family of a missing man said they feel.
A community held a prayer vigil Friday night to pray for a missing University of Georgia grad.
Police said Alvin Ahmed disappeared after his shift at a Publix in Loganville Monday.
And on Wednesday, divers found a body in Lake Carlton.
Investigators have turned to dental records to identify the body after autopsy results came back inconclusive.
Meantime, Ahmed's loved ones are hoping for his safe return.
Based on the level of decomposition officials can't confirm whether the body is that of Ahmed. But they do admit the timeframe fits his disappearance.
