Walk Like MADD 5K to fight drunk driving
ATLANTA - More than 6,500 runners and walkers took over the roads near the Mercedes-Benz Stadium Saturday for a good cause.
Atlanta joined more than 90 cities across the nation to raise money for people affected by drunk driving.
The big turnout for the Walk Like MADD 5K raised more than $420,000 for services supported by Mothers Against Drunk Driving.
MADD estimates one person dies every 50 minutes due to an alcohol-related crash.
That's more than 10,000 deaths per year.
