Video: Wanted man caught hiding in Brookhaven Wingstop's ceiling by police

Police in Brookhaven have arrested a man who tried to hide in a Wingstop's ceiling to get away from officers.

Officials say the situation happened on the morning of Dec. 4 after an officer responded to the restaurant after getting reports of a man threatening employees.

At the scene, the officer reportedly learned that the man had an active warrant for his arrest on an assault charge.

Police body camera footage shows the moment the man struggled with the officer and broke free.

After searching the Wingstop and finding no sign of the man, officers suspected he had climbed into the ceiling and deployed a drone to find him. Officers quickly spotted the man hiding in a corner above one of the restaurant's bathrooms.

With nowhere to run, the man came down and surrendered peacefully.
