Warrant issued for former Cobb County deputy
MARIETTA, Ga. (FOX 5 News) - An arrest warrant has been issued for a former Cobb County deputy accused of lying about a burglary at his home.
According to FOX 5 Atlanta news partner the Marietta Daily Journal, former deputy Jeffrey Hannah told officers back in October that his Powder Springs home had been burglarized.
He claimed his service weapon, as well as a department computer and $10,000 in cash, were stolen.
Investigators found inconsistencies in his story and Hanna later admitted he lied.
Officers said he obstructed the investigation and a criminal warrant has been issued for his arrest.
Hannah had not been booked into jail as of Tuesday evening.
