DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. - Water main breaks continue to happen as the weather continues to change.
FOX 5’s Tom Haynes spotted one along Sheridan Road at Brookvalley Lane Friday afternoon. A massive amount of water was gushing out of the main.
The break causing a river of rushing water to flow from underneath the road.
A first responder from DeKalb County Watershed was at the scene waiting for “reinforcements to arrive.”
Haynes was warned not to step too close to the break as part of the roadway could give way underneath him.
DeKalb County Watershed will temporarily shut down that particular line while they make repairs.
This type of break is common during and after a freeze like the one that hit Georgia last week. Another freeze is expected this weekend.
