PHOENIX, AZ - An enormous, top secret warehouse hidden in the Arizona desert just opened its doors to camera crews. Guess the secret's out. So what's inside? Emergency. Nuclear. Equipment.
After the devastating Tsunami in Japan in 2011 caused the Fukushima Daiich Nuclear Disaster, the U.S. nuclear industry realized that they weren't prepared to handle a massive equipment failure either. So they started stockpiling. Not canned food and ammunition for the apocalypse, but water pumps, filters, and generators- everything you would need to power a nuclear plant and prevent a meltdown.
Now if a plant in the U.S. is damaged in a natural disaster or freak accident, the warehouse can respond within a thousand mile radius and get there within a day.
They've thought of everything- equipment is on trailers ready to roll, everything is color coded, FedEx is on speed dial, and all the paperwork is already filled out. Can we hire these guys as movers?
We'll rest easier knowing this facility- and a second one near Memphis- are always ready to go in the event of a worst case scenario. With over 60 nuclear power plants operating in the U.S., the seventy million dollar back up plans seems well worth it.
