EATONTON, Ga. (FOX 5 Atlanta) - It's been five years and still no answers or arrests in the chilling murder mystery that left the Lake Oconee community shaken.
Who killed Russell and Shirley Dermond? That's what the Putnam County Sheriff's Office is still trying to find out.

On May 6, 2014, authorities discovered the body of 88-year-old Russell Dermond in the garage of his lakefront home. His head had been removed and taken from the scene.
The body of his wife, 87-year-old Shirley Dermond was found 10 days later in the lake with two concrete blocks tied to her.
Authorities said she died of blunt force trauma to the head.
Sheriff Howard Sills said the case still haunts him and he's certain someone knows what happened.
Investigators said the couple's home left few clues and there was no evidence of a struggle or forced entry.
The couple had no known enemies or connection to illegal activity.
