Woman charged with arson after SW Atlanta house fire
ATLANTA - A woman has been arrested after allegedly setting a home on fire and trying to trap the people inside, according to the Atlanta Fire Department.
Chranda Norman, 40, was charged with arson, aggravated assault, and criminal damage to property. Officials say Norman gained entry into the home and threw an accelerant inside.
The people inside escaped through the back door, and Norman was arrested on the scene based on witness testimony, according to officials.
Authorities say the people inside suffered from smoke inhalation, and one dog died. The fire occurred at a house on Cascade Road near Rogers Ave in SW Atlanta.
