Woman, infant found dead in her Cherokee County home; toddler okay
CHEROKEE COUNTY, Ga. - Investigators spent Tuesday combing over an Acworth area home after a 31-year-old woman and an infant were found dead inside. Deputies said a toddler also in the home was found unharmed.
The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office said they were called out to a home in the 2900 block of Cedar Mills Crossing for a welfare check on Holly Whitley after family members reported they had not heard from her in a while.
Deputies said they found Whitley and an infant dead inside the home. Investigators do not suspect foul play, but the cause and manner of death have not yet been released for either. Deputies said the Georgia Bureau of Investigation will release that information following an autopsy at their crime lab.
A 2-year-old girl also inside the home was said to be in stable condition. The children’s relationship to Whitley was not immediately released.
