Duluth mom missing since July

Emily Locke's daughter says she was the last person to speak to her in May before she went missing in July. The Duluth mom was reportedly dealing with some mental health issues.

Authorities are asking for help in the search for a missing 47-year-old woman last seen in July.

According to the Gwinnett County Police Department, Emily Suzanne Locke was last seen in the area of Venture Parkway near Duluth.

"We just want to make sure that she’s okay," said her daughter, Anna Rice.

Rice says it’s been months since she’s heard the calm of her mother’s voice. Locke was reported missing on July 15 .

"We would talk maybe not daily but almost on a daily basis," Rice said.

Locke made the last of what was once a weekly routine phone call with her daughter back in May—before she disappeared.

"The moment that something goes wrong, or something happens, and every girl’s first instinct is that they want to go to their mom and that’s when it hits me that I can’t," Rice said.

Rice says just a few months prior, her mother started struggling with her mental health and moved from Birmingham, Alabama to the Duluth area to be closer to family who could help get her admitted at Grady Memorial Hospital.

"These voices just talking to her, she would believe whatever it was she was hearing," said Rice.

With each day that passes, their concern grows for her safety and the safety of others.

"We hope that she realized that she had these mental health issues, and maybe she did admit herself, you know, somewhere," Rice said.

She is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, weighing 165 pounds, with hazel eyes.
