Woman, teen injured after someone opened fire on their car in Atlanta

A woman and a teenage girl suffered minor injuries Wednesday night when their vehicle was shot at along Bent Creek Way, according to the Atlanta Police Department.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 8:34 p.m. at 1999 Bent Creek Way SW. Upon arrival, police say officers found a 35-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl with injuries to their faces caused by shattered glass. 

Both were alert, conscious, and breathing. Medical personnel treated them at the scene.

Investigators say the two were inside a vehicle when someone opened fire, breaking the car's windows and causing injuries. The shooter fled the scene.

The APD’s Aggravated Assault Unit is working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
