WOODSTOCK, Ga. - Woodstock police are asking Georgians to help honor seven WWII Veterans as they are laid to rest on Tuesday.

WWII veterans to be laid to rest
Since all the veterans have no known family members, everyone is welcome to attend their memorial service and funeral.
It is part of the Missing In America Project. The cremated remains of the veterans who served in the Army and Navy will be inurning at the Georgia National Cemetery with full military honors. None of the veterans have known family members, so officials are welcoming any residents to help honor the seven men.
The seven veterans being laid to rest Tuesday are:
- Sgt. William Wallengren,
- Private, First Class Robert Green
- Technician, Fifth Grade John Embert
- Technical Sergeant John Embert
- John F. Campbell, Jr.
- Capt. Frank S. Teasley
- Sgt. Robert E. Forrest Sr.
- Specialist, First Class James Sheridan.
All the men served in the United States Army or Army Air Force during the war except for Sheridan, who served in the Navy.
Officials are hoping to have the roadways lines with residents to help pay their final respects in a procession to their final resting place.
The procession will department from Roswell Funeral Home at 1 p.m. after a brief ceremony and travel along Georgia 92 through the city of Woodstock.
The procession should reach the Georgia National Cemetery around 1:40 p.m.
Police officers, firefighters, rescue workers, and employees for the city of Woodstock will be out paying their respects.
Drivers should expect delays through the area during the 1 p.m. hour.
