ATLANTA - Attorneys for rapper Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Williams, have filed a motion to amend a key probationary term outlined in his plea deal. Williams, who began serving 15 years of probation after his release from Fulton County Jail, is currently subject to a 10-year ban from the Metro Atlanta area.
According to multiple sources, Williams is seeking clarification on the ban and is ultimately requesting permission to visit family, friends, and business associates in the area.
"Mr. Williams has family in the metro Atlanta area, specifically in the Atlanta, Georgia area and respectfully requests the ability to reside/visit at times, in his home located in the city in the attached, under seal, document so that he can have family gatherings for holidays and other lawful reasons with his family, friends, and business associates, which is a home already owned by Mr. Williams," the motion states.
Reports indicate that Williams’ probation officer does not object to the request.

During a recent interview on the YouTube channel The FitLawyerATL, Williams’ lawyer, Keith Adams, shared insights into the rapper’s post-trial life.
Adams revealed that the 33-year-old artist has expressed some regret about accepting the plea deal, especially after two remaining defendants in the case, Deamonte Kendrick (Yak Gotti) and Shannon Stillwell, were mostly cleared of charges (Stillwell was convicted only on a gun possession charge). Despite these regrets, Adams stated that Williams is doing well overall and has been in Los Angeles lately.
During the same interview, Young Thug made a surprise call to Adams, during which he expressed his desire to be off probation, thanked fans for their support during his year-long trial—Georgia’s longest criminal trial to date—and said their encouragement "kept him going."
There are still several defendants who were named in the indictment with Young Thug who have yet to go to trial. Prosecutors are currently seeking a February 2025 trial date.
