Rey Llerena
Rey Llerena joined the FOX 5 Atlanta news team in December 2025. Rey is excited to work in the Atlanta metro, an area he has visited countless times.
Prior to coming to Atlanta, Rey worked as a reporter at WYFF News 4 in Greenville, South Carolina. During his two years at WYFF, Rey covered major events across the Upstate of South Carolina and Western North Carolina. He has reported from Asheville when Hurricane Helene battered the mountains, the resignation and federal guilty plea of former Spartanburg County Sheriff Chuck Wright and the 10th year since the Charleston Church Shooting at Mother Emanuel AME Church.
A former print journalist, Rey began his on-air career at WCSC, the CBS affiliate in Charleston, South Carolina. During his time in Charleston, Rey helped cover the murder trial of Alex Murdaugh and won an award for his reporting on a mass shooting on the Isle of Palms.
Born in Miami, Rey is a lifelong Miami Marlins fan (yes, they exist), racing fan and proud of his Cuban heritage. You can find him checking out area golf courses on his day off, eating out at restaurants and spending time with family and friends.
