Judayah Murray
Judayah Murray is an Emmy-nominated TV host with a digital-first mindset and a huge smile, bringing the spice of New York to the hospitable Peach State. In 2024, she became a streaming host and producer for FOX 5 Atlanta.
Judayah has more than a decade of experience as a digital content creator. Her career began in 2014 when she launched #BlackGirlsYouTubeToo, a sponsored YouTube channel that encouraged high school students to pursue higher education, with a special focus on historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs). During that time, she graduated Magna Cum Laude from Howard University's Annenberg Honors Program with a bachelor's degree in media, journalism and film communications, and a minor in graphic design.
She went on to earn her master's degree in journalism from Columbia University.
The day after graduating, she began working as a digital host and producer for News 12 Networks in New York City. In just a few months, she earned a promotion and became the face of positive news across the New York Tristate as the original creator, host and producer of "On A Positive Note." The show was all about finding unsung heroes and sharing uplifting hyperlocal stories from New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. That role became especially important during the COVID-19 pandemic when people were desperately searching for the good and looking for ways to feel connected while isolated. Judayah's commitment to compassionate and authentic storytelling helped her earn nominations for a Host Craft Achievement NY Emmy Award and an National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) Salute to Excellence Award.
From the big apple to the giant peach, she joined the FOX 5 Atlanta digital team in 2022 as a digital content creator. In this role, she contributed to a variety of online breaking news coverage like the 2023 downtown "Stop Cop City" riot, the Midtown Northside Hospital shooting, and the streaming coverage of both the Trump-Vance and Harris-Walz 2024 presidential campaigns. She also contributed to FOX 5 Atlanta's weekly list of Things to Do around the metro area.
Judayah's mixed media experience goes beyond being in front of the camera and writing news articles. In 2017, she produced and co-hosted the radio show "Battle of The Sexes" for WHBC-96.3 HD-3 at Howard University. In 2016, she interviewed guests on the street for WHUR’s "Pillow Talk with Angela" based in Washington D.C. Over the years, she has worked professionally as a portrait and event photographer and is also trained in graphic design, video editing, copyediting, simple animation, UI design and social media marketing.
When she’s not trying to find ways to amplify underrepresented voices, Judayah enjoys exploring Atlanta, discovering new music and spending time with her niece and nephews. She's also chronically online, so give her a follow on Facebook, X, Instagram, Threads or TikTok @JudayahMurray to stay up to date on the next big thing near you. Catch her on FOX LOCAL for your mobile device, Roku, Amazon FireTV, Apple TV, Google Android TV and Vizio.
And don't forget, all of Judayah's news is good news.
