Dan Raby is a Digital Content Creator with more than a decade of experience and a career that spans print, radio, and digital media. He specializes in breaking news and feature pieces that help Georgians understand the issues affecting their community.
A native of Raleigh, North Carolina, Dan graduated from American University in Washington D.C. with a degree in communications. He began his career on the audio side of the media world at Sirius XM before moving to NPR Music, where he wrote daily pieces for the "All Songs Considered" blog and assisted with the acclaimed "Tiny Desk" series. One of his biggest life achievements is having his NPR reporting cited on one of Kate Bush's Wikipedia pages. In 2013, he traveled back to the South to work at WABE, Atlanta's NPR station, becoming the station's first digital-only producer. In his five years at WABE, he worked closely with reporters on Edward R. Morrow-winning investigative journalism on how HIV prevention dollars were mismanaged in metro Atlanta, as well as a 20-year retrospective on the Centennial Olympics. On the side, he's interviewed Big Boi and wrote personal essays for the Atlanta City Paper.
Dan joined the FOX 5 family in 2017 and has covered everything from surprise family reunions to shocking court cases. He extensively covered the indictment and conviction of Todd and Julie Chrisley, the Fani Willis and Nathan Wade hearings, and the trial of Young Thug and his YSL co-defendants. When he's not working on breaking news or breaking down the complexities of the latest big legal case, Dan is helping the Good Day Atlanta team with their interviews and special segments, which you can find on the Good Day page.
