Armwrestling championship held in Atlanta

ATLANTA - It was fierce competition with fans watching from around the world Wednesday night in Atlanta.

The city played host to the World Armwrestling League’s Supermatch Showdown Championships.

Arm wrestlers were competing at Turner Arena.

Both men and women were competing, going head-to-head in "best-out-of-five" matches.

Events included the 4 Man Lightweight Battle Royale, 4 Man Middleweight Battle Royale, and 7 Supermatches.

Organizers said the competitors come from a wide range of backgrounds from a personal trainer to a carpenter to a chemistry teacher.
