Atlanta United prepares for the MLS Cup

ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - In only the second season of Major League Soccer in Atlanta, Atlanta United is about to throw it down in Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the MLS Cup title Saturday against the Portland Timbers!

And frankly my dear, we deserve a championship right now! Our Five Stripes are the favorites, but you know how that goes.

Let's just say they have more than earned their spot in the title game and to play it here, at home, with this fan support, well, the stadium is going to be a madhouse!

Meantime, on the United sideline, the Five Stripes feel they have a built-in advantage with Coach Tata Martino.

On the other side of the pitch, the Portland Timbers are a couple of seasons removed from an MLS Cup title. They made here as the 5th seed.

It is only one match to decide the champion.

If they're tied after 90 minutes, they'll play 30 more of extra time.

Expect the Timbers to make our guys earn it.
