Falcons place All-Pro LB Deion Jones on IR
FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. - Thursday night’s opener game loss to the defending Super Bowl champions has become more costly for the Atlanta Falcons.
The Falcons announced Tuesday they have placed Pro Bowl linebacker Deion Jones on injured reserve.
The third-year linebacker suffered a foot injury in Atlanta’s 18-12 loss to Philadelphia last Thursday night in the opener for the 2018 NFL season.
The move comes the day after Atlanta placed Pro Bowl safety Keanu Neal on IR with a knee injury.
Against the Eagles, Jones made a game-high nine tackles along with an interception for a 20-yard-return.
Since his selection in the 2nd round of the 2016 NFL Draft, Jones has recorded 253 tackles, 7 interceptions, and 2 touchdowns.
Coach Dan Quinn told reporters Tuesday he expects Jones to return before the end of the season.
