LOS ANGELES - One of perhaps the most enlightening aspects of Rose Bowl week for Georgia football fans: getting to hear from quarterback Jake Fromm. Head coach Kirby Smart's policy is to not allow true freshmen to speak to the media, but this week Fromm was available, allowing fans to find out a little more about what he's like. That includes plenty of football, but also insight into his passions off the field.

"I love hunting and I love fishing," said Fromm. "If I'm not playing football or sports or hanging out with my family, I'm doing one of those two things. Usually hanging out with family while you're duck hunting or fishing. I love being outdoors."

Fromm also spent time this week looking back on what's been a wild season. He started the year as Georgia's backup, but took over after Jacob Eason was hurt in the first quarter of the first game of the season. Fromm has been the starter ever since, leading Georgia to their first college football semifinal game, and changing his day-to-day life as well.

"It's crazy when you go out in a place you never thought anybody would know you and somebody's asking you for a picture," said Fromm. "At the end of the day, life's changed a little bit, but you take it one day at a time and try to enjoy it."

Fromm's been commended for his composure, winning on the road at places like Notre Dame and the University of Tennessee. The Rose Bowl will be different, but Fromm says the key is to stay focused and not let the surroundings feel too big.

"At the beginning of the game, you try to block it out," said Fromm. "Hopefully towards the end of the game, we're winning, you can take it up and try to enjoy it a little bit."
