ATLANTA (AP) - Michael Phelps is coming to Atlanta for one of his final tuneups heading into the Rio Olympics.
The 18-time gold medalist is scheduled to take part in the Atlanta Classic swim meet May 13-15 at the Georgia Tech Aquatic Center, site of the 1996 Games. Olympic champions Katie Ledecky and Nathan Adrian are also likely to attend the meet, which is co-sponsored by SwimAtlanta and the Southern Crescent Aquatic Team.
Phelps is the most decorated athlete in Olympic history, with 22 medals overall. He retired after the London Games in 2012, but returned to competition less than two years later and is expected to be one of the biggest medal contenders in Rio at age 31.
