ATLANTA - A group of winners is celebrating after claiming titles at Wednesday morning's Peachtree Road Race in Atlanta.

Bernard Lagat, an Olympian and world champion, claimed the men's division in an time of 28:45. Lagat, a 43-year-old, said after the race, "I was fifth last year and I wasn't satisfied. So I told the Atlanta Track Club that I was going to come back and I was going to win."
On the women's side, Stephanie Bruce came in first. Her time was 32:21, allowing her to finish just ahead of last year's winner, Aliphine Tuliamuk. Bruce said of the victory, "It was a long time coming. I know how strong [Aliphine] was, but this was just years of accumulated work and believing in myself. This may be the highlight of my career this far, and it's exciting to do it in Atlanta."
The Peachtree Road Race served as the USA Track & Field 10k Championship this year.
In the Wheelchair Division, Susannah Scaroni won the women's title in a surprise finish, defeating 7-time champion Tatyana McFadden. Among the men, 19-year-old Daniel Romanchuck took the title, finishing the 6.2 mile course in a time of 13:40. In all, 75 competitors took part in the Wheelchair Division of the race.
