Together they helped Marist to the 2003 GHSA class 4A state championship. Even though that was over 15 years ago, the trio remains tight with McVay, the Ashkouti brothers even made the trip to New Orleans to watch McVay lead the Rams to the NFC Championship. After the game, an Instagram video showed the brothers tossing McVay in the air to celebrate. Despite that moment of joy, they all say McVay stays locked in during the football season and that is something that dates back to his high school quarterbacking days.
At 33 years old, McVay could be the youngest head coach to ever lead his team to a Super Bowl win, and while it amazes the rest of the world, his buddies aren't surprised.
