Death of Rayshard Brooks

The attorney for the former Atlanta police officer charged in the killing of Rayshard Brooks has filed a motion to recuse the district attorney from the case.

Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms said she has had to veto recent action taken by the Atlanta City Council to overhaul the city’s police policies in the wake of the Rayshard Brooks shooting death due to a procedural issue.

Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard has now provided three different explanations for how his office issued grand jury subpoenas, when no grand jury was seemingly in place. The GBI is investigating.

Dozens of people who were not able to get inside Ebenezer Baptist Church watched the funeral service for Rayshard Brooks on a jumbotron outside.
