Week 7 Team of the Week: Ola Mustangs

Head coach Jared Zito has the Mustangs playing some great football. A signature win over Dutchtown caused heads to turn, and Ola moved to 5-0 after beating Woodland on Friday night.

Week 6 Team of the Week: Cross Keys Indians

The Cross Keys Indians have been playing football since 1958, but the Dekalb County school has only four winning seasons in that span, and head coach John Bowen said there’s a stigma attached to his Indians football team.

Week 5 Team of the Week: Lovejoy Wildcats

This week’s Team of the Week earned the honor with a stunning upset of 7A powerhouse North Gwinnett on the road in Week 4. Edgar Carson’s 6A Lovejoy Wildcats shocked the state when beat previously undefeated and No. 3-ranked Bulldogs, 19-7.

Week 4 Team of the Week: Osborne High School

Russ Isham had never experienced a win as the team’s head coach until last Friday when Osborne finally won, beating Forest Park, 29-8. The losing streak the Cardinals snapped had grown to 31 games before beating the Panthers.
