Why is the UAW on strike?

The United Auto Workers union is now on strike against the “Big Three” car companies: General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis. This comes after the automakers would not meet union demands and workers walked out of three plants Friday in Michigan, Ohio, and Missouri.
