ATLANTA - Drizzly, breezy, and cold sum up the next few days around metro Atlanta and north Georgia.
The FOX 5 Storm Team has been tracking a front that is expected to move through starting early Wednesday morning. It is expected to set up a wedge of moisture being pulled from the Gulf of Mexico, but it won’t be the drought-buster rain system the area really needs.
The rain chance picks up after midnight and will stretch into the northern suburbs. Expect a 40% chance of showers throughout the day on Wednesday. No real heavy rain is expected with this, more like a drizzle to a light shower.

The winds will build as well through the day with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Highs will be in the mid-50s, lows will be in the upper 40s.
Areas north of a Rome-Canton-Gainesville line may get little to no rain this go-round. That is unfortunate, especially as northwest Georgia is in the most need of it.
The best chance of rain will be south of Atlanta, in places like LaGrange, Thomaston, and Griffin. Those areas will see between a half inch to three-quarters of an inch by the end of Friday.
The rest of metro Atlanta and north Georgia could see up to a quarter inch of rainfall.
The rain chance falls to 20% for Thursday and Friday.
Along with the rain is a trending warm up through the weekend, which should be nice with clear to mostly clear skies, highs around 65 and lows in the 40s.
Sunshine and seasonably mild temperatures are ahead for the weekend.
By the end of the weekend, there could be another round of showers, but that is still a little too early to predict for sure how wet the week leading into the Thanksgiving holiday will be.
