Flood Watch and Wind Advisory for Metro Atlanta
ATLANTA - A Flood Watch is in effect for parts of metro Atlanta until 2pm Monday with 2"- 4" of rain likely. A Wind Advisory is in effect for all of north Georgia until 7am Monday for sustained winds ESE 15-25 mph and gusting up to 35-45mph.
Showers will being to increase west to east throughout the day Sunday. This will be tied to a low-pressure system that gets cut off from the jetstream - so there is nothing to move it along quickly. The result is a steady soaking rain Sunday night, through Monday afternoon, and into Tuesday with expected rainfall amounts to average 2"-4"+. We may need to keep an eye on possible flooding early next week as the rain starts to add up.
