Wind Chill Advisory for north Georgai

The cold weather early Saturday morning will be compounded by even colder wind chills. Here's the latest from the FOX 5 Storm Team.

The next round of arctic air is set to invade North Georgia and metro Atlanta into the weekend, and with the significant drop in temperatures along with the added wind chill, it is going to feel bitterly cold.

Temperatures are expected to remain in the 30s and low 40s for most of Friday. After the sun sets, temperatures will plummet quickly – settling into the teens in most spots. A Wind Chill Advisory will go into effect at 11 p.m.

  • 11 p.m. Friday to 11 a.m. Sunday

Wind chills will drop as low as zero overnight Friday into Saturday morning. There is a real risk of hypothermia and frostbite during this time.

  • Coldest day Saturday

How cold is it going to get in Atlanta?

North Georgia, including metro Atlanta, could experience about 40 hours of below freezing temperatures from Friday evening through Sunday morning, according to the FOX 5 Storm Team.
