While the first batch of storms weakened as they moved into northwest Georgia overnight, once the cold front catches up and passes through later Wednesday morning into early afternoon, there may be enough instability to spark stronger storms.
The severe weather outlook has shifted to focus more on areas south and east of our viewing area, but a level 1 risk continues for areas east of I-85.
Areas from northern Florida into southeastern Alabama, Georgia and the Carolinas will have the highest risk of severe thunderstorms.
Showers and thunderstorms will continue across our area through the early afternoon.
By the end of Wednesday, the storm will clear, and the weather will be breezy, and warm in the 70s. Cooler air rushes in tonight to bring in temperatures in the chilly 40s Thursday morning.
