ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - Most of north Georgia is now under a 'Level 2' risk for severe storms Saturday afternoon through early Sunday morning.
The main concern with this storm system will be damaging winds, but hail up to 1", localized flooding and frequent lightning are also possible. Thankfully, our environment will NOT be favorable for the development of tornadoes.
There will be multiple rounds of storms Saturday, so remain weather aware throughout the day. Hit or miss strong to severe storms will fire around midday and continue through sunset all across north Georgia. After sunset, a more orgainzed storm system will bring a significant line of storms that will be capable of producing the bulk of our severe weather this weekend.
Keep in mind, there will be plenty of dry time for outdoor activities this weekend, so there isn't a need to cancel any of your plans.
