ATLANTA (FOX 5 Atlanta) - A line of severe weather moved through north Georgia Sunday, leaving scattered damage across the area.
A Tornado Watch that covered most of north Georgia, including metro Atlanta, expired at 2 p.m. Sunday. A separate Tornado Watch was issued for east Georgia through 7 p.m.
Some scattered thunderstorms were redeveloping later Sunday afternoon in parts of north Georgia, leading to a new Severe Thunderstorm Watch through 10 p.m. Sunday, but the tornado threat in that area was much lower than earlier.

Sunday's storms brought rain and heavy winds throughout the state, with at least one apparent tornado touching down near Chappel Mill in Butts County. Trees and power lines were brought down in a number of areas, including Gwinnett County, where a Tornado Warning was issued early Sunday afternoon.
While no injuries were immediately reported in Georgia as a result of the stormy weather, the death toll from the storm system across the south reached eight, including two people who died in flooding Saturday in Louisiana. Four others were killed in Texas, one in Mississippi and one in Alabama.
