Balloon Festival brings eye-candy to Halloween season
KENNESAW, Ga. - The goal of most Halloween attractions is to get visitors to cover their eyes in fear – but trust us, at one annual Kennesaw festival, it’ll be impossible to look away from the incredible sight of more than a dozen glowing hot air balloons.
The 6th Annual Owl-O-Ween Hot Air Balloon Festival will take place Friday and Saturday, October 19 and 20, at the Kennesaw State University Sports and Entertainment Park. The annual event brings together more than 20 hot air balloons, which remain tethered to the ground and light up during the evening hours, providing a colorful backdrop for the packed lineup of family-friendly activities.
This year’s festival will feature more than a hundred performing artists on several separate stages – and the list of performers extends far beyond just music, including sword swallowers and aerialists. The event also includes a costume contest, food vendors, a beer garden, and a special kids area. And, of course, with all those glowing balloons, there will be tethered balloon rides available for $15.
Hours for this year’s Owl-O-Ween Hot Air Balloon Festival are 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday. General admission tickets are $19 for adults and $9 for children ages three to 12, and $10 shuttle parking is available in the Central Parking Garage off of Frey Road on the KSU campus.
